Find out more about forthcoming Homebuilding & Renovating Shows
Behind the February issue's cover
For the cover of our February 2012 issue, the Real Homes team chose a modern yet warm and homely image to brighten up the end of the winter months as we prepare to move into spring. Take a look at what went on at the shoot...

The house we chose is a beautiful barn conversion in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire which was completely overhauled by owners Susan and Simon Barry. When the couple first bought the property for £250,000 in 2005, it consisted of four derelict farm buildings including a cowshed and three conjoining stables. The project was a challenge to say the least but after spending around £330,000 on the renovations, the barn now stands as a lovely contemporary and spacious four bedroom country home and has been valued at around £645,000.

The final cover shot shows off the fantastic family-friendly space in the open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas. The design scheme and layout help to create a bright and sociable atmosphere perfect for both young children and entertaining guests.
