Five of the latest glazing solutions
Using glass or glazing within a home's interior is a geat way to increase light and create the illusion of space. Here are five of the best ways to use glazing in your home.
1 Glass stair treads, like those in this Greatstone glass staircase from Saxum (pictured top), with stainless-steel riser-bars, allow natural light to pass through unobstructed, filling an otherwise dark hallway. Prices from £15,000.

2 The Special Plateau rooflight was used for this project because of its low profile, just 95mm, ensuring lack of intrusion on the skyline from outside the property. Prices start at £753 and a full bespoke design service is available from The Rooflight Company.

3 Internal glass doors are a great way to introduce more light into an en suite or home office while still retaining privacy. Frameless glass doors are available either clear or etched, from £450, at Go Glass.
4 Allow light to flow into your rooms or entrance hall by using glass balusters. This Glass Mezanine Balustrade, shown in grey-tinted glass with stainless-steel fittings, costs from £1,200, from Go Glass.

5 Installing VELUX Centre-Pivot Roof Windows in a formerly flat roof can create an attractive and spacious atrium effect. These can be fitted at any angle between 15 and 90 degrees. Prices for each window start from £223.25 for a white polyurethane-finish frame.
