Spring decorating: Teal and turquoise
These sophisticated new blues are perfect for a stylish bedroom or living room. Team with grey, as Marks & Spencer has in its gorgeous Fjord range, or blend with yellow, blue and lime, as in the Miami range from Next. Teal and turquoise are also popular wallpaper and furniture colours this season as they sit well in a range of schemes.

Teal and turquoise: Get the lookAs blue comes from the cool half of the colour spectrum, lighter shades of teal and turquoise will calm down a sunny room, and as they are receding colours, they will give small rooms a sense of space. Mix with stone shades for a subtle scheme, green for freshness, and chocolate and hot pink for contrast and drama. Teal and turquoise sparkle when paired with silver, sequins and mirrors. Many stores are now incorporating both colours – take a look at Matalan’s Metallic Floral cushion with bold silver flowers on a turquoise background. Turquoise is also a great choice for kitchens and bathrooms as it is exhilarating, yet calming. |
