Bathroom design: Wetrooms

Thinking of creating a wetroom? Need some bathroom design inspiration? From walk-in designs to frameless showers, take a look at the latest wetroom design features.

Compact shower enclosure

Perfect for a compact bathroom design, this corner shower enclosure provides the best of both worlds, combining the minimalist styling of a wetroom with the added screening of a fully enclosed shower area to keep the water contained in a small bathroom. The frameless shower is a hinged door connected to a glass side panel creating an enclosed wetroom. Frameless hinged door and side panel in 8mm toughened glass, each (H)200x(W)90cm, £748.48, Impey Showers.

Frontline Bathrooms - flexible shower head

Flexible shower head

A versatile shower is essential for a wetroom that’s used by all the family. If you prefer one with a fixed head, choose a model in your bathroom design that incorporates a separate, hand held attachment on a riser rail that’s height adjustable for small children – and comes in handy for cleaning the shower, too. The chrome Tiamo is a minimalist thermostatic shower with diverter, a rigid riser and square fixed head that fits the bill without compromising on style. Riser rail (H)75cm, projection 36cm and shower head (W)76x (D)76cm, £765, Frontline Bathrooms.

Overhead shower

Overhead showers which are mounted flush into the ceiling are normally only found in larger bathroom designs due to their generous sizes, but this new square design is compact enough for small shower areas. Water consumption is relatively low, with the standard setting for a flow of around 12 litres per minute, but can be increased to 20 litres for a high-powered showering experience. It’s easy to access for cleaning as the upper shell can be removed with a simple click mechanism. Axor Starck Overhead Shower, (W)24x(D)24cm, £886, Hansgrohe.
