Inspired by Spring/Summer 2012 collections! Part II
Highlights of my week so far include a visit to the Laura Ashley Spring/Summer show, and a lovely overnight stay in Tunbridge Wells, taking in a visit to the fabulous HomeSense store in the town.
With the unseasonably warm, bright weather we’ve experienced recently, I was in the right frame of mind to take in all the gorgeousness of the Laura Ashley show. Not only did they have beautiful pieces for decorating inspiration – the fashion collection was stunning, with grown-up shapes, dress lengths and stylish linen and cotton separates.
One of my favourite decorating colour choices is blue, so the Twilight Tones collection instantly caught my eye. Rich, warm and classic, the colour palette of midnight blue, sapphire, linen and dove is easy to work with in a living room or bedroom, and will create a sophisticated space. Look out for the large Vienna Ceiling Pendant, £300, and a range of beautiful upholstery fabrics including Curzon Natural Drape fabric £45, and Paramount Sapphire Drape Fabric £25.

If you want ideas for bedroom schemes – look out for Coco Duck Egg wallpaper £37, Giselle Geranium fabric £30 and the fabulous kids ranges including Alphabet bedlinen £35 and a pirate themed collection.

If you love the TK Maxx ethos of designer brands at great prices, then you HAVE to find a HomeSense store to visit! I receive letters and emails from readers all the time wanting ideas for creating a ‘unique home’ ‘wow factor’ – and HomeSense is the answer to all your prayers, and I’m hooked!
HomeSense is the sister company to TK Maxx and has buyers all over the world looking out for great things to make your home look amazing! I love the furniture– whether it’s one off statement armchairs or sofas, decoupage storage chests or Indian carved tables – their motto is ‘find inspiration or let it find you’, and I can guarantee you will spend hours browsing the store finding amazing unique pieces for your home. I’ve been to the Northampton store and now to Tunbridge Wells. Visit their website to find your local store and be sure to le me know which one you visit – and what you buy!

That ceiling pendant is fantastic! I was in Laura Ashley the other day, it was one of my first visit's there and I was astonished! Very surprised that a lot of the things they sell were in there. I genuinely thought it was a linen company!
